A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Well this book is defiantly the most violent of the ones I have read so far. Despite the fact that there are more weddings than battles, the weddings are at least “interesting,” to say the least. Even though perhaps, depressing may be a more accurate statement. This book focuses heavily on the Night Watch since the wildings are gathering to go past the wall. Of course depending on the reader one may say that is more interesting than the weddings, that take place. I will admit this book is defiantly not for the faint of heart, than again the same could be said for the whole series.
Despite the deaths of several main characters, the twist at the ending is well worth the emotional torment. However, it is defiantly worth the emotional damage that is felt throughout the book. I will admit I rejoiced at the death of King Joffery, his death was something that was needed to move the story forward. As to some of the other deaths, not so much was rejoicing could be felt.
The book defiantly adds a lot of depth to several characters, as they face challenging choices. Including Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, Sansa Stark, Bran Stark, Stannis and several more others.
