  1. Christopher,

I’ve been enjoying your insights into the writing process here. I actually found this blog via your reviews with Graphic Policy. We share similar tastes in comics and, by extension, writing.

It also made me think that you might find some enjoyment in my horror/adventure comic with artist Don Cardenas. Our colorist is Kelly Fitzpatrick (current colorist on Bitch Planet and DC Bombshells) and Mark Dale. Although the genre is pure fantasy, the setting is a region in South Carolina that is ripe with supernatural history and a checkered sociall report card in some respects, all of which is addressed or at least touched upon in our tale. Since you seem to enjoy the Mignolaverse and Dark Horse titles, our tone might be in your wheelhouse. On a lark, I figured I’d send a comp copy your way, should you be interested.

The book is titled Packs of the Lowcountry and it’s a six issue finite story with an ending. Indeed, we just completed the fifth issue and are preparing to submit to publishers to potentially publish as an OGN (Dark Horse being our #1 choice, given our genre and tone). Should you be interested, I’d be happy to send you a PDF of the first 4 issues, as well as a lettered (but not yet colored!) copy of issue #5.

Please let me know if you’d be interested. In any event, you really did just convince me to download House of Penance! I’m excited to keep an eye out for future reviews.

    Thanks,

    John Dudley
